Tulsa County Drug Task Force hit the LSD jackpot in Bixby


phpZDCJeRBixby and Broken Arrow police, teamed up with the Tulsa County Drug Task Force, hit the jackpot recently when serving a warrant at 8624 E. 136th St. The drug raid which ensued took place at approximately 3 p.m.

Said Capt. James Kite of the Bixby Police Department, officers seized several packages and containers of prescription pills, two handguns, several vehicles and over $2,000 in cash. The cash and vehicles were believed to be proceeds from drug sales. Seized was a Pontiac GTO, Chevy Corvette, Dodge Ram pickup and a Mercedes. Said vehicles, cash and guns will be held until a forfeiture case is filed.

Arrested were: Jacob Spencer,22; David McCarty,22; and Stephanie Swanfeld,26, all three listing 8624 E. 136th St., Bixby, as their address. Also arrested was Christopher Smith,23, of 800 N. Terrace Dr., Bixby.

Spencer previously had a deferred sentence on a 2007 Assault with a Deadly Weapon charge. McCarty had a 2008 weapons possession charge in Muskogee. Smith has felony convictions for knowingly receiving stolen property and credit card theft.

Swanfeld’s only previous record was a 2002 DUI arrest.

Spencer was arrested on two outstanding warrants, one for a suspended or revoked driver’s license and a second for speeding. Other charges included possession of a firearm after having been convicted on a felony (AFCF); possession of controlled drug substances, Schedules III, IV, and V, AFCF; endeavoring and conspiracy to commit a felony, AFCF; possession of drug proceeds, AFCF; telecommunication drug transactions; and possession of drug paraphernalia;

McCarty was arrested for possession of controlled drug substances with intent to distribute, Schedules I and III, AFCF;

possession of controlled drugs, Schedules II, IV, and V, AFCF; endeavoring and conspiracy to commit a felony, AFCF; possession and receiving drug proceeds (two counts), AFCF’; possession of drug paraphernalia.

Swanfeld was charged with conspiracy to commit a felony; possession of drug paraphernalia; possession of controlled drugs Schedules III, IV, and V; possession of a firearm in the commission of a felony, first offense; possession of drug proceeds; telecommunication drug transactions; maintaining a house where drugs are kept and sold. Smith was charged with conspiracy to commit a felony and possession of drug paraphernalia.

* Schedule I — drugs with a high abuse risk. These drugs have NO safe, accepted medical use in the United States. Some examples are heroin, marijuana, LSD, PCP, and crack cocaine.

* Schedule II — drugs with a high abuse risk, but also have safe and accepted medical uses in the United States. These drugs can cause severe psychological or physical dependence. Schedule II drugs include certain narcotic, stimulant, and depressant drugs. Some examples are morphine, cocaine, oxycodone (Percodan®), methylphenidate (Ritalin®), and dextroamphetamine (Dexedrine®).

* Schedule III, IV, or V — drugs with an abuse risk less than Schedule II. These drugs also have safe and accepted medical uses in the United States. Schedule III, IV, or V drugs include those containing smaller amounts of certain narcotic and non-narcotic drugs, anti-anxiety drugs, tranquilizers, sedatives, stimulants, and non-narcotic analgesics. Some examples are acetaminophen with codeine (Tylenol® No.3), paregoric, hydrocodone with acetaminophen (Vicodin®), diazepam (Valium®), alprazolam (Xanax®), propoxyphene (Darvon®), and pentazocine (Talwin®).
